NBA Player Prop for Wednesday, October 29

Keyonte George (UTA) Over 17.5 Points vs Portland

One of the biggest surprises through the first week of the NBA season is how great the Jazz offense has been. Theyโ€™re 2-0 at home as they host the Trail Blazers, who will be playing their third-straight road game. We’re looking at Utah point guard Keyonte George to go over 17.5 points tonight.

The Blazers have allowed the fourth-most points per game to opposing point guards entering tonight. Lakers’ guard Austin Reaves scored 41 against the Blazers’ defense a few nights ago.

The strength of the Blazers’ defense is on the interior and that unit will be focused on slowing down Lauri Markkanen, who is averaging 34.7 ppg so far this season. That should open up opportunities for George on the perimeter.

In three head-to-head matchups last season, George averaged 18.7 points per game against the Trail Blazers. Portland has run at the third-fastest pace in the league so far, so that should also generate some more field goal attempts. This is a competitively-priced game between two teams that have played well this season, so we’re unlikely to see a blow-out or a garbage time benching.

NBA Betting Trends for Wednesday, October 29

#551 Orlando Magic at #552 Detroit Pistons

Orlando has won eight of the last nine meetings with the Pistons’ lone win coming on New Years Day of last season. The home team won-and-covered all three meetings last season. The three meetings between the Magic and Pistons last year saw closing totals of 207.5, 211 and 209. With essentially the same rosters as last year, we’re looking at a total of 225.5 on Wednesday morning.

#553 Cleveland Cavaliers at #554 Boston Celtics

One year removed from Boston knocking the Celtics out of the playoffs, these Eastern Conference foes split their four regular season meetings at two wins apiece with all four games decided by seven points or fewer.

#555 Atlanta Hawks at #556 Brooklyn Nets

The Nets had covered the spread in each of the last eight meetings prior to Atlanta’s 24-point road win in Brooklyn at the end of last season. All three of last year’s contests went over the total. The over is 3-1 in Brooklyn’s games thus far and the only game that stayed under the total only did so by a bucket.

#557 Houston Rockets at #558 Toronto Raptors

Houston won both meetings last season, but the Raptors stayed within the number as an underdog in both contests.

#559 Sacramento Kings at #560 Chicago Bulls

The road team has won each of the last five meetings in this cross-conference matchup. Both of last year’s contests went over their respective totals. Sacramento is on the second leg of a back-to-back after losing in Oklahoma City on Tuesday. The Bulls are 3-0 this season with all three wins coming as a small underdog, so this will be Chicago’s first game as a favorite this season.

#561 Indiana Pacers at #562 Dallas Mavericks

Indiana has swept the season series the last two years in this cross-conference matchup.

#563 Portland Trail Blazers at #564 Utah Jazz

Utah has covered the spread in six-straight meetings between these Western Conference foes. Five of the last six have gone over the total. Both teams are still undefeated at the betting window this year as Portland is 4-0 against the spread and Utah is 3-0.

#565 New Orleans Pelicans at #566 Denver Nuggets

Denver has won-and-covered the last four home games in this Western Conference clash. The Nuggets have won those four games by an average of 16.8 points per game with all four of those wins coming by at least a dozen points. All three of the Nuggets’ games have gone over the total thus far.

#567 Los Angeles Lakers at #568 Minnesota Timberwolves

These teams just met in Los Angeles last Friday with the Lakers earning a 128-110 victory as a small home ‘dog. Unfortunately for both sides, neither team will look anything like the one that took the court last Friday. The Timberwolves are 0-4 against the spread this season.

#569 Memphis Grizzlies at #570 Phoenix Suns

Memphis has won each of the last five meetings between these Western Conference foes. The last three meetings last season featured closing totals of 246.5, 245.5 and 244, so with Wednesday’s opening total of 241, we’re getting about a 4-5 point discount from where these teams were lined at last season.
