NBA Props Picks for Monday: Jarrett Allen Cleveland Cavaliers OVER 13.5 Points + Assists (-132)
Jarrett Allen has crushed this PA line in each of the last two with 19 and 25 PA while averaging 15.7 PA per game.
Allen fell short of this line with only 3 PA in Game 1 due to him committing 3 first half fouls and playing only 18 minutes.
However, Allen has only picked up only two combined first half fouls during the last two games while playing 31+ minutes in each game with efficient scoring opportunities.
The Detroit Pistons defense ranked #1 in efficiency during the regular season, but they only rank 6th overall in the playoffs and Allen has taken full advantage in the last two games.
Allen also scores 30% of his points in the non-restricted paint an area where Detroit has been less effective compared to the restricted area.
The Pistons also rank dead last in free throw prevention and that area accounts for 15% of Allen’s scoring.
Allen has only logged 5 assists in the first three games of this series but he’s due for some positive regression as he’s averaging 24.3 passes and 2.7 potential assists per game. Allen should continue to see ample PA opportunities, and this is a very manageable number.
NBA Props Picks for Monday: DeAndre Ayton Los Angeles Lakers UNDER 18.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-121)
DeAndre Ayton has been a huge letdown in this series as he’s fallen well short of this line in back-to-back games with only 16 and 13 PA. Ayton’s minutes have decreased in all three games (only 24 mins Game 3) and head coach JJ Redick commented “I can’t play him”.
The Los Angeles Lakers are facing a series sweep at home and we have to expect Lebron James, Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura to continue to dominate the usage.
Ayton has struggled to collect points & rebounds while dealing with both Isaiah Hartenstein & Chet Holmgren and Redick may be more inclined to experiment with his rotation at the center position. Jaxson Hayes isn’t an ideal option, but he brings much more hustle and athleticism.
There is also a solid chance of a blowout limiting Ayton’s minutes as the Oklahoma City Thunder are favored by -11.5 after winning by 18 (twice) and 23.
