Twins vs Astros Analysis

The Houston Astros and Minnesota Twins will play the third and final game of their head-to-head series from Target Field on Thursday afternoon. They will play this game after completing last night’s game that was halted due to lightning, violent wind and torrential rain.

The Astros led 5-1 in the 4th inning when the game was suspended. The Twins will start rookie Josh Winder, while the young righty Luis Garcia gets the nod for Houston.

It’s going to be a hectic day for the Astros as they will have to travel to Washington for a weekend series with the Nationals after playing a game and a half. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 PM EST.

Twins Missing Key Hitters

The Minnesota Twins will most likely be looking to salvage this third and final game of the season on Thursday afternoon. Before playing pthis game they will have to play the last 5 innings of Wednesday nights suspended game.

Minnesota will be facing an uphill battle as they are already behind 5-1. They will have the advantage of playing at home this weekend and not needing to travel after these games conclude. The Twins have been resilient, but there comes a point where no can team can sustain this many injuries.

Newly acquired superstar Carlos Correa, second baseman Luis Arraez and outfielder Kyle Garlick are all on the IL . Byron Buxton has been playing through a nagging hip injury.

The Twins will turn to rookie starter Josh Winder to salvage this game. The youngster has been sharp, with a 2-0 record 1.61 ERA and 0.72 WHIP across 21.1 innings of work.

Houston 8.5 Game Winning Streak?

The Houston Astros had built a 5-1 lead in the 4th inning last night and the skies opened up and rain suspended the game.

The bad news is they will have to wait til noon time for their 9th straight win. The good news is, if they get that win they will have a chance at #10 at 3:30. The Astros run has brought their record to 19-11, a half game behind the first place Los Angeles Angels.

Houston could use a little more production from their bats as they rank 19th with a .683 OPS. Luis Garcia will be called upon to extend the Astros winning ways. Garcia has been rock solid, going 2-1 with a 3.45 ERA across five starts and 28.2 innings pitched.

Twins vs Astros Prediction

The Houston Astros are favored on the money line at -130, while the Minnesota Twins are +115 with a total of 8.5. This game features two of the leagues premiere bullpens that rank 2nd and 4th in ERA so far this season.

We have already highlighted both teams recent offensive struggles so you could look towards the under. However I took the under yesterday and it’s currently 5-1 in the early 4th inning.

The Astros are just on a different level right now and Twins lineup is decimated with injuries. At this price I have to ride this Houston winning streak.

Prediction: Houston Astros Moneyline -130
