Orioles vs Twins Analysis

The Minnesota Twins begin a four game series with the Orioles at the beautiful Camden Yards in Baltimore. The Twins improved to 13-9 after taking two of three from the Rays in Tampa Bay.

The Orioles took two of three at home against the Boston Red Sox, upping their record to 8-14 on the season. Tyler Wells get the nod for the O’s, while newly acquired Chris Paddack toes the rubber for Minnesota. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM EST.

O’s Take Advantage of Struggling Sox

The Baltimore Orioles turned a few heads this weekend, taking two of three from a Red Sox team that can’t seem to win a series. Starter Jordan Lyles picked up the victory while tossing six innings while allowing only one earned run on seven hits and three walks while striking out six.

Rougned Odor went 2 for 5 with a homerun, making him the offensive standout. Baltimore has not been great on offense to start the season as they rank 26th with a .621 OPS and 23rd with a .219 batting average.

Starting pitcher Tyler Wells will be looking for his first win of the season. In four starts Wells is 0-2 with a 5.54 ERA and 1.38 WHIP. Wells faced the New York Yankees last time out and threw five innings while allowing two runs on three hits and no walks.

Twins Top Team In The Central

The Minnesota Twins have impressed so far this season, their 13-9 record has earned them first place in the American League Central.

They proved that they have what it takes to compete with a quality opponent as they took two of three games from the Tampa Bay Rays while outscoring them 19-10 in the process. The young right-hander Josh Winder hurled six shutout innings while striking out seven and allowing only two hits and a walk.

Byron Buxton blasted his 7th homerun, going 2 for 5 with two runs scored. The Twins have relied on strong pitching but their bats have heated up as well and they now rank 15th overall in OPS.

Newly acquired starter Chris Paddack will also be looking to get his first win of the season. He is currently 0-2 with a 3.68 ERA and 1.16 WHIP.

Orioles vs Twins Prediction

The money line is set at -150 for the Minnesota Twins and +130 for the Baltimore Orioles with a total of 7.5. The Orioles pitching has been outstanding at home so far this season, they have the lowest home ERA in the majors with a miniscule 2.14.

Baltimore is also the best under team in baseball thus far with a 15-6-1 record, cashing the under 71% of the time. The Twins also lean towards unders with a 12-9-1 record. The under is also 6-1 in the Orioles last 7 games at home against right-handed pitching.

They moved the left field wall back 30 feet at Camden Yards and unders have been the story of this young MLB campaign.

Prediction: Under 7.5 Total Runs Scored
