NRFI Prediction 1: Guardians vs Royals (+100)
The first two games of this Guardians vs Royals series have gone to a NRFI as we look for a third straight with first pitch at 2:10pm ET.
Shane Bieber takes the mound against Zach Greinke as we’ve had success playing on AL Central matchups to go to a NRFI. Bieber hasn’t allowed a first inning run in 13 of 16 starts on the season with Greinke not allowing one in ten straight and in 14 of 16 total starts overall.
The Guardians and Royals both sit in the bottom half of the MLB in first inning run scoring with the Guardians playing to a NRFI in six of their previous eight games and the Royals playing to one in 10 of their previous 13.
Look for these two veterans to get out of the gates strong as Greinke pitches better at Kauffman Stadium (3.77 ERA) than on the road (7.04 ERA). Play on a Guardians vs Royals NRFI at a valuable +100 on FanDuel.
NRFI Prediction 2: Marlins vs Red Sox (-106)
The Marlins and Red Sox played to a NRFI yesterday with Jesus Luzardo and Brayan Bello taking the mound for their respective squads today.
Miami continues to dominate the NRFI column as the second worst first inning scoring team in the MLB on the season and the Red Sox haven’t been much better sitting eighth worst.
Bello has picked up the pace with a 2.36 June ERA and allowing only two runs combined over his last two starts (13.2 IP). Luzardo has pretty much done the same also allowing only two earned runs over his last two starts as well (13 IP).
The Red Sox have played to a NRFI in four of their last five games with the Marlins playing to one in nine of their last 11.
Luzardo hasn’t allowed a first inning run in 14 of his 16 total starts with Bello not allowing one in nine of his 12 starts. Play on a Marlins vs Red Sox NRFI today at -106 with first pitch set for 6:10pm ET.
