Best Opening Day Home Run Prop Bets – MLB Free HR Props Picks

Kyle Tucker (HOU) +400

Kyle Tucker is a rare lefty with great splits against left-handed pitching, and at +400, he’s a great bet to hit a home run on Opening Day. Tucker and the Astros will host the Yankees, so weather is not a concern. Tucker ripped 12 home runs off lefties last season and had a .267 ISO. Due to injuries, Cortes allowed two home runs to lefties in just 12.1 innings of work. Tucker has the power to take him deep, and with Alvarez behind him in the lineup, he should see strikes, making him one of the best Opening Day home run prop bets to make.

Marcell Ozuna (ATL) +400

Marcella Ozuna, known as Big Bear, hit 40 home runs last season, and we like him to get on the board early this year. 28 of those long balls came off of right-handed pitching, and he posted a .262 ISO. Zack Wheeler allowed ten dingers to right-handed batters last season, and there is familiarity between these two players. Ozuna is a power threat whenever he steps into the batter’s box, and he is underpriced to start off the season with a blast. This is one of the best Opening Day home run prop bets to make.

Triston Casas (BOS) +400

Triston Casas proved he had power last season, hitting 20 of his 24 home runs against right-handed pitching. Casas, a lefty, batted .274 against righties with .223 ISO. Luis Castillo is a great pitcher, but when he gets hit, he gets hit hard. Castillo let up 20 of the 28 home runs he allowed to left-handed batters. On the season, Castillo was in the 25th percentile in barrel rate and the 30th for hard-hit rate. Castillo is susceptible to getting hit hard and allowing the long ball, and Casas excels in taking pitchers deep.

Christian Walker (AZ) +350

Kyle Freeland, the Rockies starter, allowed 26 home runs to right-handed batters in 2023. Enter Christian Walker, who hit 13 home runs with a .319 ISO against left-handed pitching last season. Walker is one of the best power hitters on the Diamondbacks, and in a dome, there is no weather to worry about in Arizona on Thursday. Walker is a great candidate to leave the yard on Thursday.
