The Guardians have played to a NRFI in nine of their last ten games as they send lefty Logan Allen to the mound.

Allen hasn’t allowed a first inning run in nine of 11 starts on the season with the Reds sitting bottom ten in both batting average and slugging percentage against lefties this season.

Nick Lodolo starts for Cincinnati going against a Guardians team that sits second to last in first inning scoring which includes not scoring in the first in 79% of home games.

Lodolo hasn’t allowed a first inning run in eight of 13 starts this season including his last two and also sports a 1.25 road ERA compared to a 5.85 ERA at home. Let’s play on another Reds vs Guardians NRFI with first pitch at 1:10PM ET and odds listed at -115. 

NRFI Best Bet Today #2: Blue Jays vs Cardinals (-115)

The Cardinals haven’t scored in the first inning in five straight games and we think there is a decent shot of a NRFI happening in their game hosting the Blue Jays today.

Eric Lauer starts for Toronto who has been flawless in his last three outings not allowing an earned run in 9.2 innings pitched.

He’s only started two games this season but has held opponents scoreless in the first inning in those games.

Another lefty in Matthew Liberatore starts for St. Louis who hasn’t allowed opponents to score in the first inning in nine of 12 starts this season.

The Blue Jays rank bottom ten in first inning scoring this season not scoring in the first in 75% of all their games this season and current players batting a combined .167 against Liberatore all time. Play on a Blue Jays vs Cardinals NRFI to occur with odds at -115 and first pitch at 2:15PM ET.
