NRFI Best Bet Today #1: Atlanta Braves vs Miami Marlins (-120)

The Braves and Marlins have two of the bottom ten batting averages across the MLB in the last week as they go head-to-head tonight in Miami.

Don’t be fooled by the 6.04 ERA Sandy Alcantara has posted this season as most of that mediocrity occurred in the first half of the season.

Since the all-star break Alcantara has posted a 3.56 ERA and has only allowed two earned runs combined in his last two starts (13 IP).

He hasn’t allowed a first inning run in 17 of 25 starts this season including seven straight with Atlanta not scoring a first inning run in five straight games.

Hurston Waldrep gets the start for Atlanta and since he’s been called up he’s been electric allowing just two earned runs in 24.2 innings pitched while not allowing a first inning run in all three starts.

The Marlins haven’t scored a first inning run in six straight games and haven’t scored in the first inning in 72% of home games. Play on a Braves vs Marlins NRFI to occur tonight at -120 with first pitch slated for 6:40PM ET. 

NRFI Best Bet Today #2: Kansas City Royals vs Chicago White Sox (-115)

We’ve been successful in the past targeting the Royals for a NRFI and we’re going to do it again tonight as they play the White Sox in Chicago once again.

Michael Lorenzen gets the start for Kansas City who despite his 5-8 record and 4.50 ERA hasn’t allowed a first inning run in 18 of 20 starts this season.

Current White Sox batters have collectively hit just .130 all-time against Lorenzen with the Royals starter posting a 3.24 ERA in the last 30 days.

The White Sox send veteran Martin Perez to the mound making his sixth start of the season and not allowing a first inning run in four of his five previous starts.

The Royals have failed to score a first inning run in five straight games as they sit fifth among all MLB teams in NRFI results this season.

Perez posts a 1.93 home ERA this season so let’s play on a Royals vs White Sox NRFI to occur tonight with first pitch at 7:40PM ET and odds listed at -115.
