However, two of his hits against righties are home runs, and he’s facing a pitcher who allows a lot of home runs to lefties, so there is value in betting on Crawford as one of the best home run prop bets today.
Chris Bassitt allowed 21 home runs to left-handed batters last season, and he’s already allowed two this year. Crawford has faced Bassitt 28 times in his career and has yet to go yard, but his launch angle on his outs is 23.7 degrees, so he has the capability of putting the ball in the air.
Last season, Bassitt allowed most of his home runs on sinkers, and Crawford finished last year with a run value of six against the sinker. He had a .433 slugging percentage and a 42.6% hard-hit rate against this pitch. Crawford going yard is one of the best home run prop bets on the board today.
Christian Walker (AZ) +310
Christian Walker has a great matchup to go yard tonight at Coors Field. Cal Quantrill, the Rockies starter, allowed 11 home runs in 99.2 innings of work last year. Walker has two home runs in his career of Quantrill in 12 at-bats. This is his first time facing Quantrill in the altitude at Coors Field.
Christian Walker already has three home runs this season, so he is clearly seeing and hitting the ball well. All three home runs have come off of right-handed pitching. Now, he gets to face Quantrill, a pitcher with one of the highest contact rates in the MLB, at altitude, making him one of the best home run prop bets to make today.
