MLB Home Run Prop Best Bet of the Day #1: Willson Contreras (BOS) ~+300 (Game 2, Odds Aren’t Out Yet)

The Orioles and Red Sox will play a double header in Boston today with a juicy batter vs pitcher matchup on the horizon for Game 2.

We’ll take a shot with Willson Contreras hitting his home run prop tonight already hitting .361 and slugging .778 in July including four home runs. Righty Kyle Bradish is slated to take the mound in Game 2 giving up 12 home runs on the season so far.

All-time Contreras is 2-4 with two home runs and also has a home run off Orioles reliever Andrew Kittredge in his only at bat against him. On the season Contreras bats .317 to go along with a .604 slugging percentage at home compared to a .261 average and .509 slugging percentage on the road.

In the seven games against Baltimore this season already, Contreras has been raking going 11-26 with three home runs which is good for a .885 slugging percentage.

Of the 22 home runs Contreras has hit this season 15 of them have been at home with Bradish allowing a .615 slugging percentage overall to current Red Sox batters.

The Red Sox first baseman has two home runs over his last four games so let’s take Contreras to hit a home run tonight at odds projected to be around +300. Other Red Sox batters to consider for a home run includes Wilyer Abreu and Masataka Yoshida.

MLB Home Run Prop Best Bet of the Day #2: Wyatt Langford (TEX) +440

Since the start of June Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford has started to showcase the power in his bat belting ten of his 11 home runs over the last month and a half as we’ll look for him to cash his home run prop tonight at home against the White Sox.

He had one in yesterday’s 10-0 win which helped raise his slugging percentage to .595 for July. Langford has only 11 home runs this season but he missed all of May and we must not forget that he had 22 home runs last season in 134 games played.

Langford has been a better hitter at home than on the road this season slugging .593 compared to .466 in road games with Chicago sending lefty Anthony Kay to the mound.

Kay has allowed one home run in each of his last two starts and has allowed nine of his 13 total home runs this season on the road. Against right handed hitters Kay has allowed 11 of 13 home runs while allowing a .464 slugging percentage compared to a .287 slugging percentage against lefties.

Langford has shown success against lefties this season slugging .542 against them and we should see him in the top of the order again tonight slugging .771 when slated as the leadoff hitter and .684 when batting third.

Take Langford at +440 odds to hit a home run tonight with other Rangers to look at for a home run includes Jake Burger (+360) and Justin Foscue (+500).
