Gunnar Henderson (BAL) +450

There’s no doubt about it Gunnar Henderson is having a down year so far compared to his other two full MLB seasons.

If he’s going to come anywhere close to last year’s total of 37 home runs it has to start tonight on the road as the Rays host the Orioles.

Taj Bradley takes the mound for Tampa Bay and although he hasn’t allowed a home run across his last four starts, all of those came on the road where he’s been a more successful pitcher allowing just four of his 12 total home runs in 55 innings compared to the other eight allowed at home in 48.2 innings.

Bradley has also allowed seven of his 12 home runs to left handed hitters with Henderson going 7-17 with a home run all-time against Bradley.

Sure, Henderson has been a better hitter at home this season but George M. Steinbrenner Field is top five in home runs allowed this season of all ball parks and Henderson loves facing the Rays in general.

All-time he’s batting .377 with a .681 slugging percentage against current Rays pitching and against Tampa Bay this season he’s batting .357 and slugging .571.

Take Henderson to hit a home run at +450 with other Orioles hitters to take advantage of for a home run are Colton Cowser (+470) and Ryan O’Hearn (+600).

MLB HR Props Best Bet of the Day #2: Byron Buxton (MIN) +240

Lefty Kyle Freeland takes the mound today allowing opposing hitters to bat .367 at home where he and the Rockies will be hosting the Twins tonight.

Eight of his nine home runs have come against right handed hitters in which we’ll look at Byron Buxton to hit his 22nd home run of the season.

Freeland and Buxton have crossed paths just once in their careers which ended in a home run for the Twins outfielder with Buxton batting .321 to go along with a .696 slugging percentage against lefties on the season. Buxton was also hot going into the all-star break batting .333 and slugging .619 in July.

Freeland didn’t allow a home run in his two July starts heading into the break but we think there is some regression to the means tonight, especially playing at Coors Field.

Take Buxton to hit a home run tonight at +240 odds with other Twins batters to consider for a home run include Ryan Jeffers (+450) and Carlos Correa (+500).
