Minnesota has achieved back-to-back nine-win seasons under PJ Fleck. Nebraska has suffered through six-straight losing seasons.
With Minnesota as a 7-point home favorite in this contest, that suggests that there is about four points separating these two teams on a neutral field. We’re not buying it.

The Gophers have been the much better program and Coach Rhule is going to see some growing pains. In Rhule’s first season at Temple, the Owls went 2-10.
In Rhule’s first season at Baylor, the Bears went 1-11. Nebraska has failed to cover the spread in each of the last six season openers, including a 31-28 loss as a double-digit favorite last year against Northwestern.
Former LSU and Georgia tight end Arik Gilbert was supposed to be one of the crown jewels in the transfer portal, but he still hasn’t been cleared to participate.
