The Marlins were able to successfully snap their 12-game losing streak last night at home against Philadelphia 8-7 so with that relief we think the bats may be a little looser tonight.

We’ll take lefty outfielder Kyle Stowers to hit his home run prop tonight after blasting his 13th home run of the season on Sunday. They face the Phillies again tonight who send veteran righty Aaron Nola to the mound.

Nola has given up 25 home runs this season which is tied for second most among all pitchers this season with 15 of those coming against lefties.

He has allowed 12 of the 25 home runs on the road and he has hit five home runs combined in his last two starts (11.1 IP). There’s no doubt that Stowers is underperforming compared to last season when he hit .288 to go along with 25 home runs and has just 13 this season.

Five of Stowers’ 13 home runs have been hit in July and 12 of his 13 have come against right handed pitching. For what it’s worth Stowers is 9-28 with two home runs against Philadelphia this season so let’s take him to hit a home run at +360. Other Marlins hitters to consider for a home run prop are Heriberto Hernandez (+470) and Griffin Conine (+600).

MLB Home Run Prop Best Bet of the Day #2: Jackson Merrill (SD) +470

Padres outfielder Jackson Merrill is currently in the midst of his best month hitting so far this season. In July so far he’s batting .298 and slugging .571 while blasting seven of his 15 total home runs as we’ll look for him to cash his home run prop tonight.

He has hit five home runs in the last 15 days alone including one in Sunday’s 5-3 win at Miami and is slugging .698 over the last 15 days.

San Diego hosts Colorado who sends righty Michael Lorenzen to the mound allowing left handed batters like Merrill to hit .348 to go along with a .622 slugging percentage including 12 of his 16 total home runs he’s allowed this season.

Half of those 16 have come on the road and he just allowed two home runs in just 3.2 innings during his last start against Washington.

Merrill is just nine home runs away from tying a career high for a season he set as a rookie in 2024 and if he keeps swinging how he has lately he’ll likely make it there. Take Merrill to hit a home run at +470 odds with other Padres to consider for a home run prop includes Manny Machado (+370) and Gavin Sheets (+470).
