Gausman will be backed by a bullpen that ranks middle of the pack in ERA (4.11). Simpson is projected bat leadoff tonight in front of all these Rays sluggers who have thrived against Gausman especially north of the border.

Corbin Carroll is one of the best all-around players in the MLB and he’s overdue for a hot streak after only covering this line in 51% of his games in 2026 after logging 2+ HRR in 61% of his games in 2025.

The hot streak could start tonight as Carroll gets another opportunity to feast on Nathan Eovaldi who he’s gone 5-13 (.385) against with a home run, a triple and a double.

Eovaldi is coming off back-to-back elite outings against a New York Yankees lineup that he’s thrived against, but he allowed 6+ hits in 5 of his 6 prior outings.

Caroll isn’t the only Diamondbacks slugger who has hit Eovaldi well as Geraldo Perdomo has gone 4-9 (.444) with a HR, Lourdes Gurriel Jr 8-26 (.308) 2HR and Nolan Arenado 3-10 (.300). All of those hitters will be batting behind Carroll who is projected to bat 2nd behind Ketel Marte.

Texas does have an elite bullpen, but Carroll has thrived against multiple Ranger relievers including Tyler Alexander 2-3 HR, Jakob Junis 2-5 2-2Bs and Cal Quantrill 2-6 HR. This is great price for a hitter on Carroll’s level.
