Poland saw Arkadius Milik, one of their strikers, get injured early in a friendly match last week, and yesterday they saw their top striker, Robert Lewandowski, suffer an injury as well, which means that he will miss Game 1 for sure, while there will be efforts to have him available for Game 2.

I was already looking to bet on Poland to flop in this tournament, and now I am not sure how these news will affect the team. Playing without your two best strikers sounds like a big downgrade, but teams have figured Lewandowski's playstyle about a decade ago. He can score 2-3-4 goals against lowly opponents but Poland have been really predictable in recent years (albeit with a different coach).

All in all, I still believe that Poland might be one of the biggest flops in this tournament, and they are already in a tough group along with Austria, France and the Netherlands, while missing their two best strikers. And not only that, their 3rd-string striker, Karol Swiderski, also suffered an ankle sprain, and his status is still to be determined. They now have Piatek and Buksa as the two next men up, they both had good seasons, but both in mid-tier Turkish teams. Really not sure if these news serves as an upgrade or a downgrade for Poland, so I'm proceeding with caution here.

I already had Poland to finish last in the group at -125 and Poland to be the lowest scoring team at a nice +850 at Draftkings, I am willing to jump the gun and bet on these as their frontline is suffering from injuries and they are in a group with good defensive sides.

Pavlos betting on European sports when he was in High School, back when most people his age didn't even know how to bet. After acquiring a Bachelor's Degree in International Economic Relationships and development from the Democritus University in Greece, Pavlos took a different path.
