Brazilian civil war in the round of 16 of the Club World Cup, with two of the best Brazilian teams playing against one another when Botafogo will clash against Palmeiras.

Palmeiras +136 favourites here, the Draw at +190 and Botafogo +261 underdogs, with the Asian Spread set at 0.25 and the Asian Total set at 2.

The two teams have already met once in the season, back in late March, in a goal-less draw that should probably have had goals, as both teams took 13 shots each, with 3 and 5 shots on target respectively and a combined xG of 2.3.

That means that Botafogo are now unbeaten in L/5 H2H against Palmeiras (W3 D2 L0), and that includes two Copa Libertadores matches for the Round of 16 last season, where Botafogo won by 2-1 at home and forced a 2-2 draw on the road to progress to the next round, and eventually win the Libertadores.

Totals set at 2 seems low to me, considering that 3 of L/4 H2H went to the Over 2.5 Goals, and only 3 of L/11 had zero or 1 goals. And those 3 matches ALL had multiple scoring chances by both sides, high xG numbers and even some disallowed goals, so it's not like these two play any defense against one another. Chances are expected to be there, but at the end of the day it also requires a bit of luck for the shots to actually go in.
