2* Rotation #774: CFL Friday 2* Calgary Stampeders +1.5 vs Hamilton Tiger-Cats @ 9 ET - It is hard to say which way this line will eventually go but I am getting my information out early on this one and grabbing some early +1.5 on this one. MGM has +1.5 and DraftKings has +1 right now and there is also quite a bit of pick'em out there. Of course turning +1 into a win is a nice feature of having +1.5 and so I am willing to lay the -115 price. As we saw with last night's win on Montreal - my free play here but wish I had pulled the trigger on a premium pick - defense can win games. The stats were about equal in the game but the Alouettes beat the Blue Bombers thanks to 3 takeaways in the game! Winning the turnover battle and playing solid defense is almost a winning formula. I look for Calgary to follow suit. I know the Stampeders are off a disappointing campaign but this is normally a solid team. Many are down on them again coming into this season but I believe this is creating solid value in spots like this! Getting the Stamps as a home dog against a Hamilton team that has some question marks entering this season is a solid value. This Stampeders team looks like a very solid defense entering the season. I know the offense got hurt by the injury to Malik Henry in training camp but the O still has enough weapons to get it done here supported by a solid defense at home. Tiger-Cats QB Bo Levi Mitchell had 10 picks against 6 TDs last season in an injury-plagued season and now faces his former team at Calgary for the first time. Will he try to do too much here? I do expect that to be the case actually and that gives us even more line value here. Stampeders are underestimated here and Ti-Cats have some new guys they are trying to work in and I expect some sloppiness in Scott Milanovich's, assistant coach here last season, first game as the head coach in Hamilton. The opportunistic Stamps take advantage at home. 2* CALGARY +1.5
