Analysis

We recommended a play on the under in Game 1 of this Eastern Conference semifinal, and we looked quite silly after 74 points were scored in the first quarter. However, take a look at how the rest of the game played out. Cleveland only scored 61 points the rest of the way, and we're not expecting the Cavs to have another first quarter explosion like that in Game 2. Boston was led by Jaylen Brown with 32 points on 12-of-18 shooting, including 4-of-6 from three-point range. The loss of Jarrett Allen really came into play in this game as Boston out-rebounded Cleveland 55-38, including 13-7 on the offensive glass. Allen is once again listed as questionable for this matchup as he recovers from a rib injury. Donovan Mitchell scored 33 points on 12-of-25 shooting as Evan Mobley did all he could in the post, scoring 17 points on 8-of-12 shooting while grabbing 13 rebounds. Cleveland failed to score 100 points for the sixth time in eight games during the playoffs as the Cavs struggle to find complementary pieces for Mitchell. The Cavs' star is averaging 29 points per game in the postseason, but it's anyone's guess as to who can help in the box score each night. Boston's five wins in the playoffs have come by an average of 22.5 points per game. It's in the Cavs' best interest to slow this game to a grind. Even with that 74-point outburst in the first quarter on Tuesday, the game only went over the total by four points. Expect some offensive regression on both sides in this one.
