(913) Kansas City Royals at (914) Los Angeles Angels
KC/LAA Over 8.5
The Angels and the Royals come into today’s matchup as 2 of the better performing lineups over the last 15 days in the MLB. Baseball is such a streaky sport, especially within hitting, and while these 2 have started slow, they are hitting with a lot of confidence at the plate. The Royals have struck out the 2nd least across the league while the Angels are hitting a combined .254 over the last 15 days and now both face 2 starting pitchers that have not had the best of seasons so far. Detmers has given up 16 earned runs over just his last 3 starts and when he does throw well, he does so with strikeouts which will be tough against a lineup who has not been prone to striking out as of late. Wacha has had similar issues to Detmers as he has given up 20 earned runs over his last 5 starts including 7 earned runs in his last start, just like Detmers. Both starting pitchers are struggling to get through 5/6 innings and facing 2 lineups that are confident at the plate and hitting well.
