The A’s winning streak came to an end in a big way with a 12-3 loss to Miami on Sunday. We can expect that to continue into their series with the Rangers, who are fresh off back to back wins over Kansas City and have won 3 of their past 4. Andrew Heaney has been far from perfect, but he enters off his best start of the season. Heaney allowed just 1 run on 4  hits over 7 innings last time out. His off-speed stuff is really good and he hasn’t walked a single batter in either of his past 2 starts. Alex Wood is nothing special. In fact, his analytics are downright terrible. Not only does he rank in the 2nd percentile in pitching run value, but every one of his metrics is at or near the bottom of the league. He owns a wOBA of .439 and a hard it rate sitting at 48%. A lineup like Texas can and will take advantage, and at the current price this is worthy of a Best Bet Monday. Take the Rangers.
