Tough spot for Fiorentina coming in off short rest after playing in the Europa Conference semifinals on Thursday.  The Violas do sit five points back of Lazio for another Conference League birth next season, with a game in hand, so it’s not like they want to completely abandon this match, but how they will likely rotate to prepare for their 2nd leg Europa Conference semifinal matchup next week which they now lead by a goal heading to Belgium.

Verona meanwhile is tied on 31 points and only two points clear of safety.  They are in a fight against relegation and this game means much more to them than it does Fiorentina.  Being able to get a head start of +0.25 at home on Verona here makes a ton of sense.  

Verona has only lost three times in their last 11 home matches and they have results against Roma, Bologna, Juventus and Lazio this season.  They are capable of winning this match, or at least drawing it, again, especially against a likely rotated Fiorentina squad. 

Fiorentina has not been good on the road with just two wins over their last 11 Serie A matches, and I would suffice to say a win over Salernitana shouldn’t even count.
