Analysis

3% Orlando TT Over (7:00 ET): Going back to the team total “well” here, this time with the Magic, who face elimination (down 3-2 in the series) at home tonight against the Cavaliers. The home team has won all five games so far with Orlando putting up 121 and 112 points in the two where they hosted. The Magic even put up 103 in the last game, in a losing effort, and are now outscoring the Cavs by 7.2 PPG so an argument can be made they’ve been the better team. But rather than lay the points (which seems like the obvious thing to do here!) I’m taking Orlando to go Over its team total as I believe they’ve begun to hit their stride offensively.

There is no denying the fact that the Magic are a much better team at home where their record is 31-11 SU and 29-13 ATS. They average 112.6 PPG at home for the season, which - again - is a number they (basically) hit in both previous games at the Kia Center this series. The Magic’s “bread and butter” role has been when they’re a home favorite (23-4 SU, 21-6 ATS) and their scoring average goes up even higher. But because they’ve been such notoriously slow starters (trailed after 1Q against the Cavs 7 of 8 times this season when Donovan Mitchell is in the lineup - four times by double digits), I’d prefer not to lay the points.

But by the end of this game, I do expect Orlando to have scored a decent number of points. They’ve arguably been the better second half team all series. Reason I’m going team total Over (and not the game Over) is because Cleveland is only averaging 93.8 PPG in the series including 86 in the two previous road games. I’d just rather not focus on them. But I expect the Magic, with their season on the line, to find offensive success. Paolo Banchero had 39 points last game, but the rest of the team shot just 22 of 54 (40.7%) including 5 of 24 from three. At home is where we see “supporting casts” typically “step up.” Again, the Magic have gone Over this number three straight games and by double digits in the two at home. 3% Orlando TT Over (Play to 104)
