Drew Martin
(919) Boston Red Sox at (920) Minnesota Twins
Tanner Houck is on the hill for the Red Sox and he has been lights out this season. Houck has a sub 2 ERA, letting up only three runs his last 22 innings. Boston is healthier now and their bats have been hot. A top 5 lineup in MLB by Team OPS (On Base + Slugging %).
Minnesota being favored in the overnight market is largely due to their 10 game win streak. Sure, winning 10 in a row is impressive at this level. However, when 7 of the 10 wins are against the Chicago White Sox who are on pace to be the worst team in over 100 years, the streak losses some zest. Chis Paddock gets the start for the Twins and he has been rocket by some of the better lineups he has faced, giving up 9 earned runs to the Orioles, plus the Angels smacked him around for 8 hits in a shorter outing.
Boston's bullpen has looked improved. Their relief arms are a massive part of the Red Sox pitching staff posting the lowest ERA for any team in MLB. Lastly, the schedule spot is favorable with the Twins in a “bet against” situation off a road trip, playing their first game home in a week. Price good through (-125). Bet Boston.
