Like the plus money we're getting here on a fighter with multiple advantages. Jean Silva's best weapon is aggressiveness and while entertaining… that doesn't translate to a successful fighter. Lacking a polished stand up game weaponizing forward pressure and wild haymakers. One of the best counters to a heavy puncher is footwork and that's exactly what William Gomis has on his tool belt. Shouldn't have an issue working in space out landing Silva. Gomis has fantastic distance management utilizing his reach over most opponents very well. Saturday night Gomis will have the luxury of a 4 inch reach over Silva supporting his good range game and calculated striking. Slick footwork and solid minute winner steering clear of absorbing damage while returning timely counters. Gomis will also have the wrestling/grappling advantage if he chooses to level change opening up another path to victory. Love the options to win as well as the overall better well rounded fighter. Outside of a fluky KO, Gomis will nullify the power with footwork as Silva struggles closing the gap. Add in Silva's clear defensive inefficiencies in the pocket providing multiple openings to land. Lastly, Gomis is flat out hard to hit. Don't see how Silva win's minutes here or lands anything damaging against a very risk adverse type fighter. Avoiding strikes frustrating Silva whom will struggle getting into his comfort range. Give me the plus money in this spot!
