(973) Cincinnati Reds at (974) Texas Rangers
(3%) TEXAS. Both teams lost yesterday. The Rangers played here. The Reds had to travel. I expect the Rangers to be the team which bounces back in this one. Ashcraft has a better record but Eovaldi is pitching better. Through five starts, Eovaldi is averaging six innings and has a 3.30 ERA. At home, his ERA dips to 2.31 to go along with a stingy 0.857 WHIP. Through four starts, Ashcraft is averaging 5.5 innings and has a 5.24 ERA. Eovaldi has been facing touger competition of late as his last two starts were at Houston and Atlanta. (Houston still isn't an easy venue, even with the Astros poor start and Atlanta is very tough.) Ashcraft's last two starts were against the White Sox and Angels. Coming back home to face the Reds, a team he has a 1.71 ERA against in three starts, I expect Eovaldi to rise to the occasion and for the Rangers to snap their skid. *reduce to 2% if higher than -165
