Hitter Prop Prediction 1: Michael Brantley

Houston Astros designated hitter Michael Brantley hit .278 with two home runs and 7 RBI during the regular season after returning from injury in September.

Brantley is only hitting .217 (5-23) with a home run and two RBI through six postseason starts. He has only recorded 2+ Hits + Runs + RBI in 2 of the 6 starts but has recorded a hit in four of those games.

Texas Rangers starting pitcher Max Scherzer finished the regular season with a 13-6 record, 3.77 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 174 strikeouts through 152.2 innings of work.

This will be his second postseason appearance of the 2023 campaign, and he was shelled by the Astros for five runs on five hits last Wednesday.

Scherzer also allowed 7 earned runs on 6 hits including three home runs in only three innings pitched in his last regular season start against Houston. Brantley has dominated Scherzer throughout his career, going 20-54 (.370) with three home runs, 8 doubles and 11 RBI.

He did fall short of 2+ HRR for us in Wednesdays game but “Uncle Mike” is veteran that is looking to win back-to-back rings and I’m counting on a big performance tonight.

The Prop Pick: Michael Brantley OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-110)

Hitter Prop Prediction 2: Jonah Heim UNDER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-135)

Texas Rangers catcher Jonah Heim batted .258 with 18 home runs and 95 RBI across 508 plate appearances during the 2023 regular season. Heim is also 10-44 (.227) with two home runs and six RBI in eleven postseason contests.

He has recorded a hit 9 of those 11 games and cleared 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI in 6 of those 11 games. However, Heim is only 1-11 (.091) with no extra-base hits against tonight’s opposing starting pitcher Cristian Javier.

Javier finished the regular season with a 10-5 record, 4.56 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 159 strikeouts across 162 innings of work. He has started twice in the postseason and only allowed a combined two runs on four hits across 10.2 innings pitched.

Heim was completely shut down, going 0-4 in Javiers start last week. This is a must-win in a decisive Game 7 and Javier has pitched well against the majority of the Rangers lineup. Let’s ride the trend and play a Heim under 1.5 HRR tonight.
