We’re not going to sugarcoat it, Ben Rice has been abysmal since the all-star break and in August so far he’s gone just 2-26 but that means we get solid odds for him to hit a home run tonight at home as the Yankees welcome the Mariners.

Seattle sends Bryan Woo to the mound with very contrasting home/road splits. He has allowed 13 home runs in total this season with nine of them coming on the road in 63 innings pitched while sporting a 6.71 ERA compared to his home starts showcasing a blistering 1.96 ERA.

He has struggled to contain left handed batters like Rice this season as well with nine of 13 total home runs coming against them. Although Rice has struggled recently he has still hit 22 of 32 home runs against right handed pitching while slugging .579 against them compared to a .487 slugging percentage against left handed pitching.

Way back at the start of the season when the Yankees played a series against the Mariners in Seattle Rice went 5-9 with two doubles and a home run.

With that take Rice at +290 to hit a home run with other left handed Yankees batters to consider for a home run prop includes Jazz Chisholm (+320) and Trent Grisham (+340).

MLB Home Run Prop Best Bet of the Day #2: Victor Mesa Jr. (TB) +400

Rays outfielder Victor Mesa Jr. got the day off yesterday in the Rays 10-6 win at the Athletics which was the team’s seventh straight win.

After some rest yesterday we’re going to take him to hit his home run prop with six of his nine total home runs coming since the start of July.

He has just one home run in August so far but he’s still slugging .500 and six of his nine home runs have come on the road this season as well.

The Athletics will send Mason Barnett to the mound who has allowed eight total home runs in 34 innings pitched this season. Five of those eight have come at home in 17.2 innings with the other three coming in his last start at Cincinnati in just 4.2 innings pitched.

Barnett has also struggled against left handed batters allowing them to hit .274 while slugging .548 compared to righties allowing a .197 average and .409 slugging percentage.

Eight of Mesa Jr’s home runs have come against right handed pitching with the Athletics as a team allowing the third most home runs since the all-star break.

With that, take Mesa Jr. at +400 to hit a home run tonight with other Rays batters to consider for a home run prop being Jonathan Aranda (+370) and Cedric Mullins (+370).
