Jeff McNeil has only covered this HRR line in 6 of his last 13 starts (46%) but he is coming off a 1-3 effort where he scored a run and logged a free pass in Game 1 of this series against the Seattle Mariners.

Now McNeil gets another crack at Luis Castillo who he’s gone 6-13 (.462) against with two home runs and two doubles.

Castillo was lights out in his season debut against the New York Yankees but he’s struggled in three starts since that while allowing a combined 15 runs (11 ER) on 23 hits across 12.1 innings or work.

McNeil is hitting .273 against right-handed pitching and he’s overdue for some power numbers as he’s logged double digit home runs in each of the last three seasons.

He’ll be leading off on the road tonight which will maximize his at-bats against a pitcher he’s crushed in the past.
