Saskatchewan offense opened the season in tremendous form ripping off 489 total yards en-route to 31 point outing last week. Arguably the best & most electric CFL WR corps paired with precision passing QB Trevor Harris and their top flight offensive front should prove too much for Calgary. Diverse attack supplemented by top notch ground game with dual (run/pass receiving) threat RB A.J. Oulette. Calgary defense still in a bit of injury flux across the line making them vulnerable in this matchup. Last week the Stampeders allowed 30 points & 360 total yards (134 ry/226 py) to Winnipeg which is potent but not on the level of Saskatchewan. Larger story may have been the Calgary offense which posted 389 total yards & 28 points. Rushing attack remains a strength with #1 RB Dedrick Mills (112 ry) spearheading the 171 yard ground effort and starting QB Vernon Adams Jr. added 239 passing yards. Balance shown by Calgary could be somewhat troublesome for rebuilt Saskatchewan defense which was gashed at home last week by BC for 418 yards & 27 points. Notable was the 99 yards allowed on the ground by Saskatchewan whose elite run defense of last season was depleted this past off season. All the ingredients add up to a high scoring contest which figures to record 52+.
