Arizona needs to find their way back into the win column and Ryne Nelson should provide a spark as he returns to the mound following an elbow injury that landed him on the IL. Nelson has been a bright spot in this rotation, albeit in limited action this season. He has a high chase rate and does a good job mixing his fastball, cutter, and change. The Diamondbacks also need to find some offense, and Matt Waldron is a good pitcher to do so against. Waldron has given up at least 4 earned in 2 of his past 3 starts and the Padres have lost 5 of his 6 trips to the hill this season. He’s a low velo arm who doesn’t miss many bats and has a hard time keeping the ball on the ground. Nelson most likely won’t throw deep into this game, so we’ll opt for a first half wager as the Snakes take an early lead in their series finale. Take the Diamondbacks F5.
