(923) Houston Astros at (924) Colorado Rockies
Viva Mexico! Mexico Series starts tonight and we are hammering the bookies betting the Rockies over a mile high. Using the term “Over a mile high”, due to Mexico City being 2,000 feet higher elevation than Denver (The highest elevation MLB ballpark). The Rockies are a much better bet at home than on the road, a longterm trend that shows no signs of stopping. A big part of the equation in their home/road dichotomy is because the Rockies are used to the thin air in comparison to their opponents. (The baseball moves differently in elevation). We expect this dynamic to be even more pronounced today.
The Astros and Rockies are both (7-19) on the season. It has been a disaster for each of these squads straight up. Although, the difference in the betting markets, the oddsmakers and the betting public have overpriced the Astros almost two times more expensive than the Rockies year to date. Houston is “Fade City” down over (-13 units) on the season. We are fading them again in Ciudad de Mexico. Should be a fun one. Ride the Rox (+188).
