The Yankees will go for their sixth series win of the season and get a very favorable pitching match-up. The Oakland Athletics will send struggling left-hander Alex Wood to the mound. Wood has a 0-2 record with a 7.89 ERA. Wood has given up at least five hits over his last five starts, and he hasn't gone deeper than five innings all season, with some games leaving the mound a few innings into the game. Not only have the Athletics struggled with starting pitching, but their relief options have also had problems as well, and they should be pretty fatigued following the last couple of games of this series. The Yankees still have one of the best lineups in the league, ranking middle of the pack in runs per game, but 6th in on base percentage & 10th in homers.
