3% Take Seattle (#977) (action)

The Mariners are playing their best baseball of the season right now: 6-1 in their last seven games; every victory during that span coming by multi-run margins.  Their pitching has been dominant dealing nine consecutive quality starts heading into tonight;  leaving their bullpen rested and ready; a bullpen that currently ranks #3 in MLB in ERA full season.  That’s bad news for the slumping Rangers lineup facing off against Bryce Miller today.  

Miller struggled against the Rangers lineup last year (that’s why we’re getting Seattle at an underdog price here), but make no mistake about it – he’s been dominant in all three previous April starts: 19.1 innings of work, seven hits and one run allowed.   

The Rangers lineup has been held to three runs or less nine times in their last 16 games, including a shutout loss last night, not exactly tearing the cover off the ball.  It’s not like Texas has played great baseball in Arlington this year – they lost their last series at home to the lowly A’s and are a sub .500 squad on this field YTD.  Ride the hot & fade the cold.  Take the Mariners.
