He held the Brewers to one run, on only three hits, through six complete innings. The Cards lost 2-1. Admittedly, Montgomery was excellent in his debut for the Diamondbacks. He was a big acquisition for them. However, keep in mind that was his first start and that he missed spring training. He did make two Triple-A starts to get ready but he had a 10.57 ERA in those games. He and Gibson opposed each other once before, back in 2018. That one ended with a 4-3 score. Averaging six innings per, Gibson has allowed three or fewer earned runs in five of six starts vs. Arizona, four or less in all six of them. He's got a 2.75 ERA in those games.
