Analysis

2% Take the LA Dodgers Run Line (#905) (listed pitchers)

My clients and I cashed a winner with the LA Dodgers on the Run Line against the Mets on Sunday; a 10-0 LA blowout victory.   That came on the heels of a homestand that started 2-6, with a truly frustrating 13 runners left on base – leaving the bases loaded four times – in their final loss during that stretch.  Manager Dave Roberts: “It was the first complete baseball game that I can recall.  Looking forward to enjoying this one and getting on the road.”

Since signing a six year $140 million contract following his ‘breakout’ season in 2018, Patrick Corbin has been arguably the single worst starting pitcher in all of baseball.  He’s got the highest ERA of any starter in MLB since the beginning of the 202 campaign, and this year is no exception.  In four previous starts, Corbin has allowed 20 earned runs in 22.1 innings of work while allowing just shy of two baserunners per inning.    The Dodgers saw him last week and hit him hard; a short turnaround second look is primed to be equally problematic for the Nationals struggling hurler.

Washington has exceeded expectations in early season play; LA has underachieved.  That doesn’t make the Nationals a good team or the Dodgers a bad one. Every win the Dodgers have had against the Nationals since 2022 has come by multi-run margins, and LA hasn’t forgotten that they lost two out of three to this team at home last week.  Expect some payback tonight!  Take the Dodgers on the Run Line.
