(921) Toronto Blue Jays at (922) Kansas City Royals
The Blue Jays took the opener of this series Monday and we can expect a repeat performance as things continue tonight. These are two teams that are trending in opposite directions, as Toronto has won 7 of 9 and we’re seeing a little regression out of KC, who has now dropped 3 straight and 4 of their past 5. I’m not a believer in Michael Wacha, who was torched two starts back for 5 earned against the Mets. His other starts have been good, but keep in mind that two of those came against the White Sox, a team that’s batting .190 collectively and has by far the worst offense in the league. Kevin Gausman has had a few rough appearances himself, but his analytics were great a season ago and I like the way he keeps hitters off balance with his 4-seam/splitter mix. His FIP is also much lower than his ERA, and this is a good “buy low” spot on him as we bet on the team in the much better form. Take the Blue Jays.
