The Padres travel to Milwaukee after a very emotional series in Los Angeles against the Dodgers and wound up winning late last night while going into 11 innings. It is tough to repeat that type of effort after being on such an emotional high and had to take a red eye flight last night for today’s game against MIL. I think we are going to see the Padres come out flat today and lack energy. Meanwhile, Musgrove takes the mound today who has been less than stellar so far in 3 starts. He got knocked around against SF & CIN while giving up 4 earned runs in each of those starts and believe that we will see more of the same against a top performing lineup in the Brewers.

The Brewers come back home after taking 2 of 3 against each of the Reds & Orioles and are doing so by consistently putting up runs. This is a sneaky good lineup who is proving that this year by hitting 23 combined homeruns as a team (2nd in MLB) and hitting at a .290 clip (2nd in MLB). Joe Ross takes the mound for the Brew Crew who had trouble with his location on his opening start but battled back against CIN last time out. He likes to pitch to weak contact and with the Padres struggling with mental, emotional, and physical fatigue, that should play right into his favor.
