The Masters

Outright Winner FanDuel or PointsBet

I'll start with the data.  Since the Fedex Cup playoffs last year, Fitzy has been up and down with some strong finishes including a win on the DP World Tour while also missing three cuts in his last eight starts.  But overall he has finished in the Top-10 in nearly half of his starts during that stretch, 7 of 16 events.

Fitzpatrick is a nerdy numbers guy and was putting in the work to gain more distance off the tee in what he thought was his biggest weakness.  Turns out he was right and that's what helped win him the 2022 US Open.  Prior to his US Open win, all the way through last year's RBC Heritage win, Fitzpatrick had gained strokes off the tee in 29 of 33 starts.

However, in a unique story that could only happen to Fitzpatrick, he was doing testing with swingweights and added 4-gram weights in his irons and driver right around that time.  He took the weights out of his irons after about a month, but forgot about the one in his driver until after this year's Arnold Palmer Invitational.  During that stretch, he gained strokes off the tee in just 10 of 21 starts proving the negative effect.

Well, since he removed, he then proceeded to gain +1.30 strokes per round Off the Tee at THE PLAYERS finishing T5 and followed that up with a T10 at the Valero Texas Open.

At this level, the difference can be something so little, and sometimes it's all mental which now his confidence with the driver is back as well.

He's also finished T14 and T10 the last two years here.  He is close.

TAKE MATT FITZPATRICK +4000
