Hakeem Profit
(553) Minnesota Timberwolves at (554) Denver Nuggets
Dating back to 2004, playoff unders are 29-15 (65.9%) when both teams shot >40% from 3 in their previous game and the previous meeting went under.
Both teams shot lights out from behind the arc in Game 1 and it still stayed under the current number we see for game 2. I’m expecting regression from 3 along with better defense. Coach Malone was not happy with his team’s focus and let it be known in the postgame interview. Malone expressed, “Giving up 71% from the field in the 2H in a playoff game is unacceptable”. He continued saying, “you can’t just trade baskets with that team. So yeah, there’s a lot that we’ll look at the film to clean up so we can be better”. I expect defensive adjustments as well as better overall effort from the Nuggets. The wolves are the best defense in the league and I trust them to continue to show up. Neither team is playing uptempo so we’ll expect a slow more defensive game 2.
