Now Torres gets the opportunity to feast on Tanner Houck who he’s gone 7-22 (.318) against with a home run and two doubles.

Houck has really struggled this season (6.10 ERA) especially on the road where he has been rocked for a ridiculous 8.36 ERA and .340 OBA.

Red Sox closer Aroldis Chapman has pitched in 3 of the last 5 games including an appearance on Sunday and he rarely pitches on back-to-back days so the Boston bullpen will be vulnerable in late innings if Houck fails them early.

This is going to give Torres opportunities all throughout the game to clear this HRR line as he’s projected to bat 2nd tonight in the Tigers order.

MLB Player Props Today for Monday: Manny Machado, Padres OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-130)

Manny Machado is swinging a hot stick as he is tied for the MLBs longest current hit streak (11) while clearing this HRR line in every one of those games.

Machado is 2-8 (.250) in the batter vs pitcher matchup against Yusei Kikuchi and both of those hits were home runs (4 RBI).

All three of Machado’s home runs this season have come against left-handed pitching while logging only 43 at-bats compared to 102 homerless at-bats against righties.

Kikuchi has really struggled on the road this season where he’s posted a 5.19 ERA & .270 OBA compared to a 1.65 ERA & .238 OBA at home.

Machado isn’t the only San Diego slugger to thrive against Kikuchi as they have hit .298 with (6 HR) against him collectively across a solid sample size of 57 at-bats.

That means Machado will should have plenty of RBI and run scoring opportunities against a pitcher who has struggled on the road.
