Analysis

Minnesota fans are having deja vu because the Timberwolves' team that we're seeing right now looks a lot like the team that started the season 30-11 and held the No. 1 spot in the West for a long time. Injuries slowed Minnesota down after the All-Star Break, but with a clean bill of health, the T-Wolves are reminding everyone what they are capable of. Minnesota protected home court with a pair of double-digit wins as this opening round series shifts to Phoenix. The Suns' offense has looked mediocre while shooting just 32-percent from three-point range and turning the ball over an average of 17 times in those first two games. The total for this one has dropped to 207.5 points on Friday morning, and similar to our thoughts on yesterday's Sixers vs Knicks contest, there's very little room for error with a total that low and this much offensive talent on the court. You have to figure that the Suns will figure some things out on offense on their home court. But in the same vein, you also have to figure that Anthony Edwards will improve as well. Minnesota's star was held to 15 points on 3-of-12 shooting in the 105-93 win in Game 2. We simply can't see Phoenix being held below 100 points for a third-straight game. When Minnesota was a road 'dog during the regular season, the over was 10-7. Both teams were top-10 in free throw attempts during the regular season, and the Suns will certainly be hunting for a friendly whistle at home. This game sets up very similar to yesterday's contest in Philadelphia where the Sixers' offense looked much more comfortable on its home court. We're expecting a similar result tonight.
