So we were on the Oilers in game 1 and game 2 and although we lost game 2, we are coming right back with a bet on Edmonton. Frankly, when I was watching the game last night and it went to OT, I was cheering for the Kings (my play was in regulation), as I knew if they won, we would be betting a 5% on the Oilers on Friday. So here we are and the series is tied 1-1, which gives us a great betting opportunity. The bottom line here, is this Oilers team owns the Kings, winning 3 of their last 4 matchups, and 7 of their last 9. Not only that, but most of the games have not been close, with Edmonton winning 7-4, 4-1 and 4-2 in their last 3 wins. They have also beat the Kings 2 playoff series in a row and there is a reason for this. As I wrote in Wed analysis, this Oilers team is the fastest team in hockey and this Kings team is one of the slowest. The Kings run a 1-3-1 neutral zone trap which clearly does not work against this speedy Oiler team. The Oilers have literally scored 4 or more goals against this slow Kings team in their last 4 games and only once in their last 10 have scored less than 3 goals. Not even home ice will help here, as the Oilers have won 3 of their last 4 in LA. I love that the Kings won Wednesday, as I expected this series to only go 5 games and that win is now over and one with. There has not been a better team since November in the entire league than the Oilers and they are hungry and focused. Even after the Kings went up 2-0 and 3-1 in the 1st on Wed, the Oilers bounced back and went tied the game up. They carried the play the entire 1st and 2nd period and now have put up 76 shots in the 1st 2 games. I also love that we don’t have to take this game in regulation as the line is low enough to bet the full game. 

So here we have the best team in hockey, coming off a home loss against a team they own. This will be a close game for maybe the 1st 2 periods, but when all is said and done, the Oilers will win by 2-3 goals and get their home ice advantage back.

We are taking the much better, much faster team coming off a loss. Go Oilers go.
