(969) Houston Astros at (970) Washington Nationals
After getting swept by the Braves, Houston took game 1 of their series with the Nationals Friday night. Even with the win, the Astros sit at just 7-14 on the season, far from the way they envisioned things starting out. All that to say, we can expect a determined group moving forward, and Houston has the man we want on the mound in order to get us to the window. Ronel Blanco has been sensational as I’m sure most of you remember his no-hitter in his first start. Blanco went on to throw a 1 hit shutout in his next start and followed that up with another quality outing last time out. The Nationals are a bottom tier team and Trevor Williams isn’t going to “wow” anyone. He throws extremely slow and has a rather high hard hit percentage. We also have to keep in mind that despite their record, Houston ranks 2nd in all of baseball in batting average and 3rd in OPS. Positive regression is on the way and we can expect them to pick up a rather easy victory tonight. Take the Astros RL.
