The Lakers closed out their season on a solid note, winning 11 of their final 14 games. They consistently put up great numbers, leading to their team total going over a ton down the stretch of the season. The season ended with these clubs facing each other in their final games, with the Lakers winning it 124-108. Playoff basketball benefits the Lakers. I believe the Lakers have the edge in playing at a slower pace, winning the free-throw battle, and scoring points in the paint. 

The Pelicans have struggled to play the same team back-to-back times during the season. New Orleans found itself in this scenario three times throughout the season, losing straight up and against the spread in all three cases. 

Over their last twenty games, the Lakers have the edge in paint field goal percentage, points per game, corner three field goal percentage, free throw rate, and many other key factors in winning a playoff-type game. 

I look for the Lakers to come out strong in this one and win the first half. If the Pelicans stand a chance, it will be by making second-half adjustments, not by winning the first half.
