The Gold Sheet
(967) Chicago White Sox at (968) Cleveland Guardians
Prior to last night's seven-run explosion, the White Sox had scored a total of 16 runs in their first ten games. Chicago has already been shut-out four times this season, and most of those games were with a relatively-healthy lineup. They enter Wednesday's clash with the Guardians without their three best hitters in Luis Robert Jr. (hip injury), Eloy Jimenez (adductor strain) and Yoan Moncada (adductor strain). After spending last season in the KBO, Erick Fedde has transitioned nicely into Chicago's rotation. He hasn't gone past 5.0 innings yet, but that's all we're looking for on Wednesday. His first start against the Tigers was 2-1 after five innings and his second start against the Royals was 1-1 after five. Cleveland's current roster on has three players (Austin Hedges, Andres Gimenez and Josh Naylor) that have faced Fedde before, so he will have the benefit of unfamiliarity on his side. Cleveland's Tanner Bibee faced the White Sox once last season and got the win. Four players got a hit off Bibee in that contest: Moncada, Jimenez, Jake Burger and Yasmani Grandal. None of those four players will be in Chicago's lineup on Wednesday. Expect both starting pitchers to take care of business in the first half of this AL Central contest.
