Analysis

This line feels wide.

Giving me (+200) on a former UFC champion who's 12-1 in last 13 cage appearances since 2018. I'll take it.

Couldn't disagree more where this line opened. Making Charles Oliveira a sizeable dog is an easy bet for me in this spot. Now I get it, Armen Tsarukyan is a rising talent in the division with strong wrestling and top game. Believe line was set at this price due to similarities to Islam Makhachev's wrestle heavy approach that defeated Charles. Also let's not forget to mention, Oliveira's only loss since 2018 is to the #1 pound for pound fighter on the planet. As good as Armen is, he's not quite at the level of Islam just yet. Stylistically, I believe Oliveira is better everywhere and is much more dangerous all around compared to Tsarukyan. No doubt he'll be the overall better wrestler pushing a heavy wrestling pace but Charles is absolutely lethal on the ground. Whether he's in top control or off his back he'll relentlessly submission hunt to either latch onto something or reverse position. Armen's ground and pound is strong yet firing off ground strikes won't be easy opening himself up for Charles to find something on the mat. Don't believe he can finish Charles on the mat or continually take him down banking rounds. Furthermore, if Armen keeps diving at legs Oliveira will pose a threat to Armen's neck leaving it out on those level changing attempts. On the feet, Charlie Olives should be the far better striker with more dynamic attacks and explosive combinations. At times his striking gets slept on somehow even after knocking out Michael Chandler and dropping both Dustin Poirier & Justin Gaethje before subbing them. Incredible set of achievements even given those opponents resumes. While Armen beat a washed Benny Dariush, Damir Ismagulov whom no longer fights for the UFC and Joaquim Silva who was having success and landing on Armen even rocking him. Silva didn't hunt for finish allowing Armen time to clear the cobwebs clinching and getting a takedown. That's not Charles, if he smells blood he's going to finish. Oliveira can hurt Armen on the feet causing more damage as Armen seeks wrestling and control time.
