Analysis

The path to glory is there and at nearly a pick'em price tag provides plenty of value…

I want to start this breakdown by saying, Heili Alateng has beat some of the lowest level fighters the division has seen. Kevin Croom, Batgerel Danaa, Ryan Benoit, & Chad Anheliger are combined 1-11 adding their last 3 fights together, while 3 of those names are cut from the organization. Now I know, I know, Hugo hasn't fought the highest level of competition but has looked good riding a 13 fight winning streak. Looking over strength of schedule further, Heili's losses are even more impressively bad. Losing two lopsided decisions, one to Casey Kenney were he out landed Heili 109-46 & Chris Gutierrez out struck him 110-38. Massively wide gaps in strikes while low pace is prevalent in most of his fights. Now enter our hero, Victor Huge whom I'm a believer in and is getting a perfect stylistic match up. Going over past fights, one of the clear vulnerabilities in Helil Alateng is being susceptible to heavy pressure and volume. In this case, Victor brings pure aggression, blitzing heavily forward working towards takedowns. Should be explosive enough to create those openings working toward a controlled position. This fight taking place in Las Vegas at the Apex, only further assists Huge in his mission crashing forward with less space for Heili to work with. Like what I've seen in Victor's ground game, although at times he'll be submission over position… yet extremely opportunistic. In any clinch or grappling situation continually attacking subs or Hugo finding ways to improve control. Once on the mat, it should be one way traffic and threat of a finish is live. On the feet, Huge also has the luxury of a 5 inch reach and 2 inch height advantage. Lastly, to say Heili Alateng blocks punches with his face would only be putting it lightly. He has a large negative striking differential of less than 3 significant strikes landed per minute compared to absorbing 5 significant strikes per minute. He's there to be hit and apparently he's repeatedly willing to accept it over 3 rounds with limited offense back.

Believe it's a strong position to place our money at (-125) when he should be a bigger favorite.
