***Analysis regarding pitching change***
One of the big reasons I always list pitchers is so I have the option of getting out of my bet if it's a change I don't like. Typically, if the team I'm betting against makes the change I'll almost always get out because I subscribe to the thought process that it's tough to prepare for a different pitcher on short notice.
That goes both ways so, with the Nationals making the change on short notice I will back that as I think that makes life very difficult for the Cardinals here.
The line moved .10 cents but I still think grabbing the +1.5 at -130 is more than reasonable so same exact bet here and if you were able to play this as ACTION congrats as you locked in some CLV
The new pitcher is Paolo Espino who enters with a 3.48 ERA and 1.21 WHIP and just tossed four of his best innings of the season against the Dodgers earlier this week. This really isn't a “spot start” as Espino was supposed to get the ball tomorrow so really he just going to make his start a day early on regular rest.
What also doesn't change is the fact Dakota Hudson comes off the IL with a neck strain and really hasn't been good going on a month now and the fact the Nationals bullpen has been tremendous at home with just one run conceded in the past 26 innings.
Espino might only give us 4-5 innings here but I expect them to be 4-5 good ones. I also think the Cardinals will struggle to prep for him on short notice.
Everything else stays the same and we move forward with a slightly more expensive 5% MAX BET on Nationals +1.5.
Play on Nationals +1.5 (-130) for 5% (or 5 units)
I listed pitchers which means my 1st play gets NO ACTION so this will be graded as Nationals +1.5 (-130) for 5% with the new pitchers listed
