Analysis

Make sure you list Robert Gasser as starting pitcher here as this handicap is heavily based on Gasser getting the ball for the Brewers tonight.

Gasser makes his MLB debut and is someone I've been waiting for the Brewers to call up.  Cardinals lineup is a complete mess and I think the Brew Crew does enough against Lance Lynn to be in position for another home win here.

Robert Gasser is a stud, he would have been on the big league roster to start the season but dealt with bone spurs in his elbow that put him on the IL for a few weeks.  Because of that, Milwaukee had to let Gasser ramp back up at AAA and now that he's back up to speed they are going to unleash him on a hapless Cardinals offense here.

Gasser was one of the best pitchers at the AAA level last season, he went 9-1 for the Nashville Sounds with a 3.79 ERA and 1.28 WHIP and followed it up with a promising spring (until he was lit up in a start that sent him to the IL).  My guess is the masses are going to glance at his AAA numbers from this year but it's important to note Gasser was in rehab mode which just isn't the same as if he were “competing” at AAA.

The Brewers wouldn't make the call here if Gasser wasn't ready so I expect Gasser to come out at full strength even if he's on somewhat of a pitch count.  Gasser has an excellent slider that should keep a Cardinals lineup that's now without their best hitter in Willson Contreras off balance here.

Lance Lynn has great numbers against the Brewers but the Brewers have owned the Cardinals on a 9-1 run against St Louis outscoring the Cards 51-18 during that span.  I also think some of Lynn's numbers “against the Brewers” are flawed as this is a Brewers lineup being paced by guys like Brice Turang and William Contreras, neither of which were around for most of the numbers Lynn has accumulated agianst the Brew Crew.

The one that is factored in there is Christian Yelich who broke out with a huge 3 for 4 night last night and now has an OPS of 1.115.  Just a lot of reasons to think the Brew Crew find a way in this one.

Play on Brewers -114 for 4% (or 4 units)
