(37) Edmonton Oilers at (38) Vancouver Canucks
4* Rotation #38: NHL Thursday 4* Vancouver Canucks +121 vs Edmonton Oilers @ 10 ET - The Canucks offer solid home dog line value in Game 1. Much has been made of the Canucks goalie situation with Demko out. However, let's not forget that the Oilers Skinner had an inconsistent post-season last year and had a 3.68 GAA! Also, he has allowed at least 3 goals in 4 of his last 6 starts and allowed an average of 4 goals in those 4 games! For a long-time the defense and netminding of Edmonton has been what has held them back. I am not saying it will in this series and I do feel there has been some improvement for the Oilers, but I do feel the Game 1 value lies solidly with home dog Vancouver here. The Canucks love the underdog role and have a hard-nosed coach in Tocchet who also helps the team embrace that role. Vancouver has allowed 2 or less goals in 6 of last 9 games. The Oilers have allowed 3 or more goals in 5 of last 7 games and allowed an average of 4 goals in those 5 games. Edmonton is a strong team but the Canucks certainly did not win the division title by accident this season either and they are very under-valued here! 4* VANCOUVER +121
